Personal Development

Our Vision at Halfway Junior School

We believe that personal development is the core purpose of education, empowering children to thrive and become successful adults through equipping and fostering character, virtues, skills , knowledge and experiences to create and take the many opportunities presented in life. Through a deliberate approach of Relational Practice, our curriculum serves to ensure all pupils have equality of opportunity to reach their potential by challenging pupils to fully engage in the world around them and embody our school values, becoming competent in collaboration, problem solving and leadership.

Our curriculum covers the full range of National Curriculum requirements alongside our school values which are aligned to the local and school community. Through our curriculum and personal development culture, pupils are exposed to and coached through a variety of social and moral challenges, explicitly taught how to keep themselves safe and manage their bodies and hygiene, as well as explore the world around them and more widely, within our taught sessions and pupil opportunities.
