Support For Families

School is a gateway to support for many aspects of family life. Our Staff work with families regulalry to overcome many common challenges, affecting many families within our school community. Whatever the challenge, school will find the avenue to support families; please don't hesitate to come in and talk through any difficulties beyond the school gates.

Through our partnership with the Family Intervention Service, we are able to quickly get in touch with a wide variety of proffessionals to seek advice and support, whether than be courses for parenting, advice on finance or housing, or support with children's mental heath and well-being.

I need support; what do I do next?

Please call our school office or drop into school to speak with one of our school leaders. We will listen and provide advice around next steps and where support can be found. Any information shared with school will be dealt with senistively.

What happens next?

Depending on the context of the support needed, together, we will agree where we can go next to provide the best help available

This may be:

  • Courses or groups available through the Sheffield Directory
  • Meeting with our FIS worker, Diane Rogers, for advice
  • Adaptations / support within school, such as medical need, morning routines or social support
  • Signposting to wider agencies such as financial teams, food banks, housing support or mental heath teams
  • Referrals for more intensive and targeted support through FIS via an Early Help Assessment
  • Should we feel a child is at risk of harm, a referral to children's safeguarding will be appropriate

The Sheffield Directory

Diane Rogers, our local link worker, is often in school and can provide advice to families. For circumstaces which require more complex support, workers are often allocated to support families for a fixed period, providing advice and expertise as a clear plan to overcome challenges within the family.
